Abstract
Benjamin Franklin (Frank) Wedekind (1864–1918) was a German poet, playwright, essayist, and novelist. He had a passing job in advertising—he wrote jingles for Maggi seasoning and worked as publicist for a circus—and a more illustrious career as an actor and cabaret performer, mostly of his own materials.
