Seven Poems by Konstantin Vaginov

Abstract

Konstantin Vaginov (1899-1934) was born and lived in St. Petersburg, Russia. He came of age as a poet in the 1920s, when literary life was burgeoning, and Vaginov, in his own words, was a member of nearly every poetic circle of the time. In particular, in 1921 he was accepted in Gumilev’s “Guild of Poets” and in 1928, he participated in the famous performance “Three Left Hours” of the avant-garde OBERIU group (Kharms, Zabolotsky and Vvedensky).
